Process notes
This jar was wheel thrown from 100% recycled stoneware with a fine grit addition, resulting in a robust clay body with a softly speckled appearance. Clay was sliced off using a humble potato peeler and potter’s knife to create a geometric, faceted form. In reference to journeys across the South Australian outback, sprawling lines of blue and white have been carefully incised into the surface using inlay techniques. The outside of the jar is finished with a semi-matte white glaze that responds to the colours laid into the clay, while the inside of the teapot has a slightly glossier white finish.
