Ashlee Hopkins is proud to present Adelaide Ceramics Market
Supported by the City of Charles Sturt
The inaugural 2025 Adelaide Ceramics Market will bring together 35+ South Australian ceramic artists for a vibrant one day event in November at Woodville Town Hall. This is a grass-roots, artist led project that will champion artists and craftspeople. We hope that we can grow Adelaide Ceramics Market into a landmark annual event in the craft, art, and design calendar, providing a sustainable future for our community.

Thank you for your interest in participating in the inaugural Adelaide Ceramics Market.
In 2025 ACM will present a one-day market style event in celebration of the South Australian ceramics community. We hope that our inaugural event will provide a foundation for us to continue growing and celebrating our community for many years to come! We welcome applications from South Australian potters, artists, makers, sculptors, craftspeople, jewellers - as long as you work with ceramics and will present your ceramics focused practice at ACM. We also welcome applications from South Australian potters clubs and collectives, and from South Australian and interstate tool and materials manufacturers and suppliers.
Adelaide Ceramics Market is run predominantly by volunteer efforts from Ashlee Hopkins, as well as a number of ceramics community members who have donated their time toward this project. Please be patient with us as we navigate this rather large but exciting undertaking. If you have any questions you can get in touch with Ash via email.

Please read ahead carefully before commencing your application.
THE DETAILS
► Adelaide Ceramics Market
Supported by the City of Charles Sturt
► Sunday 16th November 10am - 3pm
► Woodville Town Hall, Kaurna Country, Woodville Road, Woodville
There will be an entry fee for attendees, available to purchase online or at the door.
THE PROCESS
Applications open 10th August at 10am
Applications close 27th August at midnight
Our selection panel will meet to discuss applications before notifying you in early September.
► If accepted, you will receive an invoice for the stall fee. The stall fee will be payable within 7 days to secure your place at Adelaide Ceramics Market. You will also be required to sign our contract and act in accordance with clauses set out in the contract.
► If you are not accepted please understand that we are unable to provide feedback. We are already running very high numbers of in-kind/donated hours toward this project and sadly cannot offer this extra service this year.
INDIVIDUAL STALL FEES
► $180 per stall
► We are still in the process of finalising stall sizes but you can expect stalls to at least fit a single 1.8m trestle table and a chair.
► All tables and chairs will be provided at no extra cost.
Your stall fee is an investment in the future of the South Australian ceramics scene. Building a landmark event from the ground up will take time and effort. We have been successful in our application to City of Charles Sturt for funding that covers most of our marketing expenses. Your stall fee directly contributes to remaining marketing costs, venue hire, and event management. All market administration is made in-kind by our volunteer team in order to balance our budget. Unfortunately we are unable to offer subsidies to artists travelling from remote/regional areas or to emerging artists. However, we would love to support your application for a grant that could help fund your participation in ACM. If you are unsure about where to start looking for funding please reach out to us.
POTTERS CLUBS AND COLLECTIVES
► $360 per stall
► All tables and chairs will be provided at no extra cost.
We will consider applications from pre-existing South Australian potters clubs and art collectives. The increased stall fee will provide you with a larger stall size to present work by multiple artists/craftspeople.
We will not consider applications from groups forming specifically for ACM. This is not the purpose of this stall option.
TOOLS + MATERIALS MANUFACTURERS AND RETAILERS
► Please get in touch via email to express your interest in applying for ACM and our panel will assess your suitability within our offering.
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM
► Retailers of commercially produced ceramics eg ceramics produced overseas or not 'hand made'. If you're unsure where you fit on this scale please get in touch with us before applying.
► Individuals, clubs or collectives from outside South Australia
► Collectives of First Nations artists who aren't currently members of Indigenous Art Code
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA FOR MAKERS, CLUBS AND COLLECTIVES
Our selection panel will assess all applications with the intention of creating a vibrant, high quality marketplace that represents a broad intersection of the South Australian Ceramics Community.
► Experience level - emerging, mid career, and established makers will be selected
► Type of practice - from hobbyists to full time potters
► Specialised areas - from sculptural pieces to functional ware
Ensure that you have taken time to consider your responses to all parts of the application. We are looking for detailed answers that will best describe your practice to the selection panel.
► You MUST be a South Australian maker. We are not looking for interstate stallholders this year. Please do not apply if you/your studio is based interstate.
MARKETING CAMPAIGN
► Two month intensive social media campaign**
► One month BANNER PLACEMENT at the front of Woodville Town Hall. This location is exposed to 21,400 vehicles daily on Woodville Road. Plus this is an excellent location for foot traffic with Woodville Station across the road being a main park & ride point on Outer Harbor, Grange, and Port Dock train lines. The popular NNQ restaurant is across the road from the venue, a new bar/café is due to open at the front of the venue in coming months, and the St Clair Residential Precinct is a short walk away.
► 10,000 A6 flyers + other hard marketing materials for distribution across Metro Adl**
► Pitches to multiple media companies to increase our visibility.
** All stallholders will be required to actively participate in marketing the event across their own social media platforms and mailing lists, and to contribute to the distribution of flyers. A collective marketing effort will yield greater results for all.
A LIST OF THINGS YOU WILL NEED IN ORDER TO COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION
► Information about your products and price points
► 150-200 word artist statement
► Up to 3 high quality images that are indicative of what you will present at ACM
